Report – Dishy news from the Annual Horatio Street Association Meeting

News first (er, gossip): The renovation where the Woolco building was? To become retail space and offices for THEORY – - more twiggy models to stride our streets. Although I’m sure the (rumored) new Emeril restaurant in the space next to PM will bring ‘em too. With all that traffic, it’s been suggested we need a stop sign at the corner of Washington and Horatio (plus all those families with small children trekking to the gorgeous park on the pier)… honestly, it’s very unsafe!
Resolved: that campaign is being spearheaded and I’m sure you’ll hear plenty more about it shortly!
Resolved: to write (and leak) a nasty letter to Hotel Gansevoort if they don’t uphold the promise to get rid of the noisy generators (still noisy today -but they have until May 6 – exactly 1 week left)
Resolved: to request something be done about the vermin planters in front of Louboutin.
Resolved: to focus on building a mailing/e-mailing list for the Horatio Street Association
Resolved: to monitor the watershaft/Seravelli Playground issues
Resolved: to reach out to the manager of the new restaurant next to PM in hopes of avoiding and circumventing common neighborhood issues with restaurant (exhaust smells, noise)

I’m pleased to report that a healthy couple dozen (or so) folks were at the meeting – some residents since the 70′s, some just moved in, some in their 70′s and one little newborn. It was fun. Let’s have a street party! Let’s! Let’s! Let’s!
