1) West Village: No one else seems to know (by which I mean: I don’t know, and neither did my doorman), so I thought I’d ask you: There’s a little park in the West Village — Jackson Square — bordered by Greenwich Avenue, Eighth Avenue, and Horatio Street. (It lies right in the path of what should be 13th Street.) On the Northern edge of the park, on a triangular lot wedged between the North Village Deli (on the SE corner of 14th and 8th), and a sort of scary-looking MTA power station done a style best termed art deco-meets-industrial monumental, there’s long been a small, surface-level-only parking lot. In the past several days, said parking lot has closed; its now fenced closed and it’s devoid of vehicles. What’s next for that location?

Could this explain the address of the mysterious application for a liquor license on Eight Avenue that I couldn’t find anywhere (despite walking back and forth like a mad woman)?
